On April 18, 2022, David interviewed Gabby Rincon, English language teacher in Santiago Chile, and founder of her own company, English Priority.
Originally from Venezuela, after completing her education, Gabby held jobs as a language teacher in high schools, and at university level, before entering the corporate world. After a successful teaching career in more traditional roles, she started her own business, teaching English online, and quickly developed a base of clients that were eager to improve their language skills.
We also talk about Gabby and her husband’s decision to leave Venezuela with their young son, due to the economic climate in their home country, and re-locate to Chile. She tells of the arduous journey that she made by bus with her son through Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, before reaching Chile. She quickly resumed her teaching and has successfully established her business in Chile.
She currently holds a free online Business English Speaking Club every Saturday. Gabby sees a tremendous opportunity, not just for language learners, but also for entrepreneurs and freelancers in South America.
